Raglan Week – Part 1

Over at Patterns for Pirates, it’s Raglan Week!  They’re posting some great hacks and tutorials over on their blog this week, along with a new pattern release for a kids raglan.  Since I don’t have a kid, I decided to make a couple of women’s raglans for the occasion.  Tonight I’ll be posting my first take on the Slim Fit Raglan with Add On Pack for the hood, styled with my favorite jeans, the SOS Pants.

This is one of two hooded raglans I’ve been dreaming about for the fall!  I’ve also been hoarding two different versions of this soft, beautiful floral french terry…finally gave this a shot and I am in love.  It’s the perfect layering item for cooler weather and like I said last time, I’m currently addicted to anything floral.

The stripes are a medium weight double knit rayon spandex, with tiny stripes on the other side.

Plus, it’s fantastically cozy, so it’s an automatic win.  If it weren’t still so warm out (but trust me, I am not complaining), I would never take it off.  I neglected to get a good picture of this, but I lined the inside of the hood with the floral…because I can’t get enough.

I made the tunic length with the added band, so that I could easily wear this with leggings as well, if I were going for the “stay at home and read books all day” look.  There’s also options for a front pocket, inseam pockets at the sides, and a hood that crosses over more at the front.  I definitely see more of these raglans in my future…

Stay tuned later this week for my second version of this pattern!

Happy Raglan Week!

Thank you!! I was also pleased with the fit. It’s not skin tight, but still has a decent silhouette so I feel put together. Highly recommended! And I appreciate your comment on my style – that is a work in progress. 🙂
