Today I have for you my new favorite quick and easy pattern – the Patterns for Pirates Pumpkin Spice Dolman! I’ve had my eye on this pattern for about 6 months, but didn’t want to make it in the spring/summer since I think it truly shines with the long sleeved version. Of course, you could just as easily make the short sleeves and it would be great that way too, but I’ve had contrasting sleeves like these in mind.
It really is the perfect “slouchy” top to be actually dressed but feel totally comfy. Very much my idea of an outfit. 🙂 I got this patterned sweater knit from someone else because they needed to get rid of fabric, so I have no idea where its from. I do have enough left to make one more however, for a lucky customer. The plain bodice fabric is a divine brushed sweater knit…it basically feels like a baby bunny. All that to say, I’m never taking this thing off.
It was super easy, it would have also been super quick if I could have made the back in all one piece…however, I wanted to conserve the fabric so that I could squeeze one more back out of it. So I had to piece it together and match up the print along the seam down the back. It wasn’t really hard to do, but it just took me a long time to maneuver the fabric appropriately. It’s still not perfect, but I don’t think my errors are very noticeable. The second one will have the back all in one piece though, so whoever ends up with it won’t have this issue!
Absolutely making more of these too, since they’re so quick and easy to wear, which is usually what I am aiming for – grab it here. No complaints from me!
Happy sewing!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE! Love the colors, the wide neck, the sleeves, the fabric, the model, the EVERYTHING!!!
