Happy Thursday! Today I’m sharing another Arrowsmith tank I made for Brian, with the new Thin Line strike offs from Vinegar and Honey.
Allison and Lauren were so generous to give away their strike offs for some of the new custom prints, which is how I was able to receive this one. The Thin Green Line designates militar recognition and honor, so this one is highly appropriate since Brian is a Navy veteran. Also, I mentioned that if I won the fabric, I would make a tank for Brian in memory of his cousin, who was killed in action in Iraq while serving in the Army. So, that’s what I did.
This particular cut is a french terry, which I would describe as medium weight. Not too heavy for this tank, but substantial. Brian prefers his clothes to have a bit more weight to them, so this was perfect! I believe it is also available in cotton lycra. I still have a bit of the french terry left over and it’s already been requested for raglan sleeves. ๐
The colors are bright (the green anyway) and rich. I love how the grays are distressed and almost look like concrete. Very cool. Brian really likes this one too because it’s patriotic but not over the top. Unlike his Fourth of July tank I blogged earlier – ha!
I believe preorders close August 1st, so make sure you get yours in! They also have red and blue lines available as well, for fire and police recognition.
Until next time!
Elisabeth

I love that you sew for your hubby so much too! We need more male models. ๐ This tank looks great, those VHCO girls are the best aren’t they?
