I’m missing the warmer weather already! I sewed up the Mama Cora Culottes about two weeks ago in testing and it was so much warmer even then. But anyway…I can totally wear them with tights for the fall, so that’s good! Because I love these.
Made for Mermaids released this pattern the other day to coincide with their 35K member Facebook Group celebration, but it’s currently on sale for $3 with all proceeds benefitting those affected by hurricane Harvey. Starting October 1st it will be free for group members, so if you’re looking for another crafty way to help out, this is a great option!
As you can see, they can easily be dressed up or down, depending on your mood and the fabric choice. For both of mine, I used what was listed as ITY. However, I’d say the black and white one felt a little bit more like a thin scuba, and the plum one was more of the “traditional” ITY feel (thinner, slinkier). Whatever you choose, you’ll definitely want something with drape that will hang nicely, though not TOO thin.
I found myself wearing these around the house quite a bit too, since they are insanely comfortable. Essentially, it’s about as close as you get get to not wearing pants at all, so that’s a win in my book. 😉
The pattern comes with four inseam lengths (4″, 8″, 12″ 17″), for multiple different looks. Both of these are 4″ since I wanted the short skirt look for mine. I also made a pair out of a leopard print ITY and experimented with a 2″ inseam. Clearly I won’t be posting those, but they are great as pajamas! I may or may not have also made a matching top. 🙂 Talk about pattern versatility!
So make sure you go and grab your own copy! There’s also a girl’s version too so you can match any littles you may have (and the bundle combo). Happy sewing!
