Pine Crest Fabrics Activewear

March 10, 2019March 12, 2019Leave a comment

Hello friends!  I'm super excited to share this post with you - it's been in the making for a bit now.  I had the opportunity to use two fantastic spandex-based fabrics from Pine Crest Fabrics, which are a great choice for making athletic items: Olympus (available on Fabric.com in fun prints!) and Virtue (available on Fabric.com). First, Olympus.  … Continue reading Pine Crest Fabrics Activewear

October BeeBox -VHCO

November 15, 2017Leave a comment

It's that time again - for the surprise fabric box!  This month's BeeBox comprised of 2 yards of Vinegar and Honey's custom brushed poly.  Which I (not so) promptly used to make these leggings! As somewhat "boring" as leggings are, I actually haven't made a non-solid pair for myself in quite some time.  I went … Continue reading October BeeBox -VHCO

More Driftless Cardigans & Penny Raglan

March 18, 2017March 18, 20174 Comments

Happy Saturday!  In light of the annoyingly cold Chicago "spring", I've been sewing a lot of items which can be layered for the seasons.  Coming up tonight are the Grainline Studio Driftless and Penny Raglan! I've been obsessed with the Driftless since it was released around this time last year.  I've always liked wearing cardigans, … Continue reading More Driftless Cardigans & Penny Raglan

Cardigan Week!

January 22, 2017January 22, 20172 Comments

Hello again!  I hope the holiday season was a fun time for you all.  I spent a bit of time in Germany and Ireland, which was awesome.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to bring home any fabric, since all of the fabric stores I found were already closed for Christmas.  Oh well...I survived! January has been … Continue reading Cardigan Week!

Raglan Week – Part 3

Hello fellow sewing enthusiasts!  Here I am again with yet another raglan; my third and final installment for Raglan Week.  This time I used the Patterns for Pirates Relaxed Raglan, and again the Add-on Pack for the hood and also the front pocket. I used some amazing sweater knit that I got from someone local who … Continue reading Raglan Week – Part 3

Leggings & Laundry

September 17, 2016September 28, 20164 Comments

I'm so excited to share these next four pieces!  I am obsessed with florals, especially for fall wardrobes.  Something about the bright colors will hopefully keep the impending doom snow at bay?  Maybe?  Probably wishful thinking. It was about 80 degrees when I took these today, so I'm definitely still feeling the summer vibes here … Continue reading Leggings & Laundry

I think this is the first year I’m not sewing at midnight on October 30th. 😂 I really wanted to get a few pictures before the rain came here in the PNW so that was a good motivation. Anyway Pooh and Piglet wish you a happy Halloween! 🎃

Summer in Oregon ☀️🍓
Looking at my feed made me realize I hadn’t posted here in over a year! But really I don’t expect anyone to see this because I know Instagram hates posts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But in that timespan I grew and birthed another baby boy, we moved to the Pacific Northwest and I hardly sewed anything. 😂 This linen faux-romper (fauxmper?) is one of my favorite makes though and it’s perfect for hot weather and staying cool. Anyway, just posting to say hi. I’m hoping maybe the dead rodent in the wall of my craft room will decompose ASAP so that I can enter the room without being nauseated. No big deal. What is with my sewing space and rodents?!??? 😭😭😭
This boy is definitely a snuggly one these days! He was always so squirmy and unsettled as a baby, it’s still surprising when he is like this now.
It’s been a while, but hopefully my “sewjo” has returned for the time being. The past few months have been very rough for a few reasons but...sewing is at the top of my self care list and so I’m trying to make it a priority! Easier said than done.
