Mommy & Me Swimwear!

June 19, 2019June 19, 20191 Comment

One of my favorite things about sewing will always be the ability to make unique things for my family.  In this case I knew I needed some new swimwear for this summer, and I wanted to coordinate with baby boy without being too matchy. Last summer when I was pregnant, I almost made myself a … Continue reading Mommy & Me Swimwear!

Pine Crest Fabrics Activewear

Hello friends!  I'm super excited to share this post with you - it's been in the making for a bit now.  I had the opportunity to use two fantastic spandex-based fabrics from Pine Crest Fabrics, which are a great choice for making athletic items: Olympus (available on Fabric.com in fun prints!) and Virtue (available on Fabric.com). First, Olympus.  … Continue reading Pine Crest Fabrics Activewear

Minimalist Swiss Cross Mommy & Me

February 18, 2019Leave a comment

I’ve made quite a few matching outfits for L and Brian, mainly due to using up the scraps from fabric I had already used to make Brian things over the past couple years.  I have made one matching set for me (which I have not yet blogged...better get on that before he outgrows it!) but I … Continue reading Minimalist Swiss Cross Mommy & Me

Raspberry Creek Sweater Knit

November 6, 2018November 7, 20182 Comments

I know I constantly obsess over the CLUB collection from Raspberry Creek, but today I'm loving some of their regular retail yardage: sweater knit!  What's not to love about buffalo plaid?!  This hacci sweater knit is the softest fabric ever. I sewed up the Made for Mermaids Women's Nina because I knew it would fit … Continue reading Raspberry Creek Sweater Knit

So Classic Sundress Skirt Hack

September 18, 2018September 18, 2018Leave a comment

Even though it's already September, it's still 90+ degrees here in Chicago, so I feel justified in posting this skirt & tank combo before I launch head first into fall style!  I made this one last month and even got pictures mid-August but in the whirlwind of working full time, Brian starting a new job, … Continue reading So Classic Sundress Skirt Hack

So Classic Sundress

August 4, 20182 Comments

As soon as I saw the pretest photos and line drawing for the new P4P So Classic Sundress, I knew it had to be done with gingham.  And it did not disappoint!  Also, can I get a prize for doing 16 functioning buttons / button holes at 11PM and NOT messing any up?! I did test … Continue reading So Classic Sundress

I think this is the first year I’m not sewing at midnight on October 30th. 😂 I really wanted to get a few pictures before the rain came here in the PNW so that was a good motivation. Anyway Pooh and Piglet wish you a happy Halloween! 🎃

Summer in Oregon ☀️🍓
Looking at my feed made me realize I hadn’t posted here in over a year! But really I don’t expect anyone to see this because I know Instagram hates posts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But in that timespan I grew and birthed another baby boy, we moved to the Pacific Northwest and I hardly sewed anything. 😂 This linen faux-romper (fauxmper?) is one of my favorite makes though and it’s perfect for hot weather and staying cool. Anyway, just posting to say hi. I’m hoping maybe the dead rodent in the wall of my craft room will decompose ASAP so that I can enter the room without being nauseated. No big deal. What is with my sewing space and rodents?!??? 😭😭😭
This boy is definitely a snuggly one these days! He was always so squirmy and unsettled as a baby, it’s still surprising when he is like this now.
It’s been a while, but hopefully my “sewjo” has returned for the time being. The past few months have been very rough for a few reasons but...sewing is at the top of my self care list and so I’m trying to make it a priority! Easier said than done.
