Birthday Newcastle Cardigan

November 26, 2017November 25, 2017Leave a comment

I've had my eye on the Thread Theory Newcastle Cardigan for Brian ever since I first started sewing (2 years ago!).  It always seemed a bit too complicated so I never attempted it until now.  Well, I sewed it for Brian's birthday in September, but we weren't able to get any pictures until now.  First … Continue reading Birthday Newcastle Cardigan

Fall Mountain-wear, Part 2

I'm back for Part 2 of my installment on the Raspberry Creek CLUB line mountain-wear!  Once again I turned to my trusty menswear pattern company, Thread Theory for the Strathcona Henley again. I used the same cotton lycra mountain print as last time for the sleeve accent fabric, and a solid heathered gray cotton lycra … Continue reading Fall Mountain-wear, Part 2

An Octopus Strathcona

August 13, 2017August 13, 20171 Comment

Isn't this octopus print awesome?  I bought it towards the beginning of summer and am just now sewing it up...to continue my trend from my last post!  It's another cotton lycra from Raspberry Creek. This Thread Theory Strathcona was such a weird trial of errors.  I had initially used a triblend for the body pieces but … Continue reading An Octopus Strathcona

I think this is the first year I’m not sewing at midnight on October 30th. 😂 I really wanted to get a few pictures before the rain came here in the PNW so that was a good motivation. Anyway Pooh and Piglet wish you a happy Halloween! 🎃

Looking at my feed made me realize I hadn’t posted here in over a year! But really I don’t expect anyone to see this because I know Instagram hates posts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But in that timespan I grew and birthed another baby boy, we moved to the Pacific Northwest and I hardly sewed anything. 😂 This linen faux-romper (fauxmper?) is one of my favorite makes though and it’s perfect for hot weather and staying cool. Anyway, just posting to say hi. I’m hoping maybe the dead rodent in the wall of my craft room will decompose ASAP so that I can enter the room without being nauseated. No big deal. What is with my sewing space and rodents?!??? 😭😭😭
This boy is definitely a snuggly one these days! He was always so squirmy and unsettled as a baby, it’s still surprising when he is like this now.
It’s been a while, but hopefully my “sewjo” has returned for the time being. The past few months have been very rough for a few reasons but...sewing is at the top of my self care list and so I’m trying to make it a priority! Easier said than done.
