So Classic Sundress Skirt Hack

September 18, 2018September 18, 2018Leave a comment

Even though it's already September, it's still 90+ degrees here in Chicago, so I feel justified in posting this skirt & tank combo before I launch head first into fall style!  I made this one last month and even got pictures mid-August but in the whirlwind of working full time, Brian starting a new job, … Continue reading So Classic Sundress Skirt Hack

Hand Stamped Fabric Tank

June 2, 2018August 25, 2018Leave a comment

Look how beautiful this fabric is!  It's another lightweight cotton woven from Fibers to Fabric; this one is hand stamped. I only had one yard, so it was a tight squeeze to make this one.  I used the (sadly!) retired Grainline Studio Tiny Pocket Tank pattern - with zipper mod.  I'd made this one before, … Continue reading Hand Stamped Fabric Tank

September BeeBox – VHCO

September 25, 2017September 25, 2017Leave a comment

It's the end of September, but you'd never guess it by the weather here in Chicago!  It's been in the upper 80's lately and today was especially hot and humid.  Insanely odd, but I'm super pleased that these photos ended up looking so "fall" because the September BeeBox is absolutely perfect for a fall dress!  … Continue reading September BeeBox – VHCO

Brunch Blouse Pattern Release

September 14, 2017September 18, 20174 Comments

It's safe to say I'm in love with this pattern!  The Brunch Blouse released today and I've already made three.  With fabric for two more... This pattern, by P4P, is drafted for apparel fabrics with a soft drape (sorry, quilting cotton!), includes lots of options, dolman sleeves and has a semi-fitted silhouette.  Perfection if you … Continue reading Brunch Blouse Pattern Release

My Long-Awaited Chambray Alder

October 9, 2016October 9, 20162 Comments

I'm back with my finished work in progress!  This past week I've been working like crazy on my first Alder by Grainline Studio, view B.  I've been dreaming of this light blue chambray Alder since I was first introduced to Grainline by my coworker (who is Jen's friend).  I knew that I wasn't experienced enough … Continue reading My Long-Awaited Chambray Alder

Equally loved and exhausted by these three. ❤️❤️❤️
I think this is the first year I’m not sewing at midnight on October 30th. 😂 I really wanted to get a few pictures before the rain came here in the PNW so that was a good motivation. Anyway Pooh and Piglet wish you a happy Halloween! 🎃

Summer in Oregon ☀️🍓
Looking at my feed made me realize I hadn’t posted here in over a year! But really I don’t expect anyone to see this because I know Instagram hates posts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But in that timespan I grew and birthed another baby boy, we moved to the Pacific Northwest and I hardly sewed anything. 😂 This linen faux-romper (fauxmper?) is one of my favorite makes though and it’s perfect for hot weather and staying cool. Anyway, just posting to say hi. I’m hoping maybe the dead rodent in the wall of my craft room will decompose ASAP so that I can enter the room without being nauseated. No big deal. What is with my sewing space and rodents?!??? 😭😭😭
This boy is definitely a snuggly one these days! He was always so squirmy and unsettled as a baby, it’s still surprising when he is like this now.
